Aawaaz Foundation is a non-profit organisation, conceived with the vision of making education equitable and accessible. Committed to the motto that knowledge is power, Aawaaz has relentlessly worked towards upskilling and teaching bright young individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We believe that accessibility is the foundation for growth. Our work has impacted more than 15000 economically marginalised children through government collaborations, mentorship programs and skill training workshops.

We have worked towards making education and skill development accessible to economically disadvantaged groups. With several projects including the development of the EMDD curriculum, the Mentorship Program or the St+art India initiative, our team has prioritised the needs of the disadvantaged talents of our nation and worked towards equipping them with the tools to build their own futures.

Curriculum Development

Aawaaz collaborated with the Delhi Board of School Education in 2022-23 to develop the “Entrepreneurship Mindset and Design Thinking using Digital Tools” Curriculum, also known as EMDD.

This inquiry-based module is centred on the principles of “design thinking” and aims to instil a spirit of entrepreneurship in young students of DBSE schools while equipping them with digital literacy. From detailed modules to regular school visits, our team worked diligently to deliver comprehensive and fun modules that challenged students to solve real-life problems using design thinking and digital tools.

St+Art India Foundation

We collaborated with St+Art India Foundation, a non-profit that aims to bring art into the urban and public sphere. Given its focus on democratising art to revitalise cultural activities in the cityscape, it has

also become a channel for community engagement and holistic education. Together, we organised community training sessions for children belonging to underprivileged backgrounds. The training was provided in the form of activities such as dance, music, and theatre. This project spanned over a month, where the facilitators developed and implemented curriculums for the aforementioned activities. The project ended with a showcase in Lodhi Colony which turned out to be a great success!

Mentorship Program

Over the past few years, the education community faced significant challenges, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to major changes in teaching methods and pedagogy worldwide.

At Aawaaz, we recognized the need to adapt to these changes and launched our mentorship program in 2021. Mentors, carefully selected and trained by PO Box Trust and the Aawaaz Foundation, provided personalized support to students, focusing on long-term growth and self-sustainability. The program aimed not only to improve academic performance but also to foster social and emotional learning. By matching mentors and mentees from similar backgrounds, we created a supportive environment where students could thrive.
